Treats By Cat, not for cats. 

I started baking as a hobby while I was studying art in South East London, just a few vegan cupcakes and brownies every now and then. I realised that baking was way easier and more fulfilling (literally, filling!) than painting and screenprinting, so my hobby spiralled from there! 

My hobby turned into a business back in 2014, my friend invited me to have a bake sale at her coffee shop one weekend to see if it was a viable option. She asked me 1 minute before we were due to open what I had called my business. I hadn't thought of a name, so I blurted out "CAT FOOD", she wrote it on the blackboard and it was too late to change it and here we are today!

I bake handmade treats, cupcakes, showstoppers and the gooiest fudgiest brownies at my bakery in Brockley, South East London. Freshly baked to order in small batches, I make sure to use the best ingredients, fresh seasonal produce, and the sweetest decorations.

The pandemic was a very worrying time for me as I wasn't able to safely open my shop on Saturdays. I had already been sending treats by post for around 18 months so it was a no-brainer that I would pivot to being a completely mail order business. Even though most of my treats are sent mail order these days, please e-mail me if you have a request for a showstopper celebration cake on cake@catfoodcakes.com - I don't take on many celebration cake orders, so please refer to my social media to get a feel for the type of cake I love to bake before enquiring, I prefer more colourful designs that focus on one theme/flavour rather than anything "simple" or "hobby/interest themed".
