Cat Food Cakes Classes and Workshops
Wanna learn to bake a cake with me? My first cake classes are now live!
These are classes with a difference - not only will you learn how to bake the perfect cake, with fillings and buttercreams, we will be working on how to execute a brightly coloured design while having fun and losing the perfectionist in all of us. We spend so much time worrying about our creations being perfect enough to post on our social media, we miss out on the JOY of creating.
I know you've got some burning questions to ask, but lets go through some we've already had!
Where is the bakery?
Unit 48, Brockley Cross Business Centre, Endwell Road, London SE4 2PD
There are only 1-2 parking spaces available outside the bakery, please don't park in my neighbours parking spaces without checking first. There's lots of free parking on residential streets only a couple of minutes walk away.
Is the space accessible?
We will be on the ground floor, no steps and have a disabled loo. We have one adjustable height table at the bakery which is suitable for wheelchair access, please e-mail me on cake@catfoodcakes.com to make sure it's free/I can get to Ikea for an extra one!
I have an allergy or dietary requirement, am I still able to attend?
I won't be able to provide a special free-from cake for you for the quickie or whole cake class, this would require extra time and ingredients both before and during the workshop I'm sorry. However if you are happy to attend for the experience and learn a new skill then I won't stop you from attending. If these classes and workshops are popular, I'll definitely add a few vegan baking classes soon, or you can book in for a one to one masterclass if you like! I can't add a nut-free or gluten-free option as the risk isn't covered by insurance, I'd need to rent a whole new premises for each of those sorry!
Can my child, dog, cat or parrot attend with me?
This is strictly an 18+ human adults only environment. The space is a professional working kitchen, and not suitable for children or young people unfortunately for insurance purposes. Please do not bring children or pets with you as you won't be allowed to access the bakery for your class, no refunds will be offered if you are turned away.
I need to cancel, can I have a refund?
If you cancel 14+ days ahead, a full refund will be with you within a week, or we can reschedule to a future class if there is capacity.
If you cancel with 7-14 days notice, we will refund 50%. You can send a friend in your place if you prefer.
If you give less than 7 days notice, we cannot offer a full refund. A partial refund will be offered if we are able to fill your space. Leftover ingredients will be donated to our local food bank. You can send a friend in your place if you prefer.
What do I need to bring to the class?
Nothing except every ounce of enthusiasm you have!
What should I wear?
Comfortable flat shoes, no open toes. Trainers or dr martens are perfect, you won't slip on the concrete floor in those! Wear a long sleeves/legs if you can, warm layers if the weather is cold as we will most likely have the door open for ventilation. Aprons will be provided, but
What about Covid?
I trust that clients will not attend if they have any symptoms, and that if possible you are testing before attending. The class numbers are small so that we are at less risk of spreading the virus.
Do I get to keep the cake?
OBVIOUSLY YES! No matter how tempting it is to ask you to pay me to bake the entire contents of this month's subscription boxes... !
Do I need any experience?
You can attend even if you have never made a cake before, or if you've been professionally baking for decades! There's so much you can take from the class - from technical skills to creative skills and wellbeing.
Can I bring alcohol to the bakery?
Please don't do this, it wouldn't be at all appropriate. I would hate for you to ruin your own enjoyment, and potentially others enjoyment by having a little too much, or causing an accident. I will turn away any clients who arrive drunk, no refunds given. There are a couple of local bars you can head off to afterwards though!
Can I bring a friend ?
The price is per person per cake, so they will need to purchase a class.
Are there any discounts available for group bookings?
Not at this time. The classes are small - I will need to be paid the same no matter if clients know each other or are complete strangers.
Can I attend virtually?
Not at this time, but we hope to launch an online class for the winter months.
